![]() ![]() I picked it up, started taking poison damage, and ran it to the lab. First I wanted to find the cure, which calls for a poison dart frog to be mixed in a lab close to the final stage of the game, this is optional for the good ending. I was on the last stage of the story (I'll try to avoid spoilers) and I decided to do a couple trophy hunts before I finished the game because the were accessible. The saving is just like The forest, you have to build a shelter or find a little calendar to pop a save (story mode only.) Which is fine don't get me wrong, until what happened to me happens to you. Unlike the forest, the main threat is not other humans, it is the wildlife, which I look at as a pro but it can get annoying fast when you are out of meds and keep getting bit by a rattler, leaving you about 3 minutes to find meds until certain death. I beat the story in about 4-5 hours and I died probably 15 times from snakes. (10/10 for survival.) CONS: Holy h-ll this game is hard. You can contract disease, pick up ring worm from sleeping in dirty places, leeches from dirty water, break bones, get swarmed by bees and start swelling, and even keeping your guy sane so he doesn't start seeing things that aren't there (yes that's a feature and it's quite frightening.) And of course the basics like needing to sleep, eat, and drink every now and than. The survival aspect in this game is very very realistic. Now for building, it is very very slow, but very rewarding and gives you a "Primitive Technology" feeling instead of being able to throw up a mansion in the middle of the rainforest like other survival video games.(7/10). Hunting is great in this game, animals are literally everywhere and you won't be searching for one long.(8/10). This can be turned off in the custom mode menu, which won't ruin trophy progress or multiplayer. There is combat against Amazonian tribes, which are pretty uncommon and usually in small numbers, but oh boy are they a trick to kill. The world is beautiful, you are in the middle of the Amazon rainforest filled with life, and dangers of course. I'd say this game is comparable to "The Long Dark" and "The Forest" with more complex mechanics/survival and less fighting cannibals. But the real king of the jungle, is survival mode. I don't know if this is a spoiler, but the story is pretty short and you can honestly beat it in an hour on tourist mode if you just want the trophies. I started out on story mode (walk in the park mode) which I recommend for new players. Cross-platform interaction is not envisaged.Pros: This game is very challenging! (Which I love because games are just too easy these days) It's not like any other survival games in the sense that you have to keep track of every vital, including fat, carbs, and protein intake, sleepiness, and even sanity. The players on PC, Switch, Xbox and PlayStation stay in their respective universes. You can play through both story and sandbox alone or with friends. Solo and co-op: Both game modes are possible in Green Hell. But then everything goes wrong and with your help it comes back on track – if you are successful. The story mode: With Mia and Jake Higgins you accompany two scientists into the jungle, where they research a tribe living there. If you don’t, you will eventually go insane. In Green Hell you can compensate for particularly stressful or disgusting situations by resting around the campfire or preparing and enjoying a warm meal. Mental state: Extreme situations are nerve-wracking.And that’s also necessary to detect parasites or wounds before they cause worse. Health: You can systematically examine your body.Your diet must be balanced and contain proteins and carbohydrates in addition to fats – and of course clean water … ![]() Nutrition: Eating only coconuts will not save you.You have to keep track of many things at the same time to stay alive: The survival sandbox: The game is based on a challenging survival sandbox. So far, Green Hell has seen over 1.5 million players and received a number of expansions in various updates. The Amazon Survival game appeared on PC in Steam Early Access in August 2018 and was successfully released in September 2019. This means that the developers are just within the last published schedule.Īnd the next generation consoles? Further updates will follow later for the Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5. With Xbox One and PlayStation 4, things are now going on: From June 2021, owners of this generation of consoles will also be able to get into the jungle survival game. Old consoles: Green Hell has been playable on the Nintendo Switch since October 2020. At the Future Games Show at the end of March, the developers have now decided on a specific time window. It has been announced for a long time: Green Hell is coming to the consoles.
